Phyllis A  Free
Phyllis A. Free, 85, of Washington, IN, went to her Heavenly Home from Specialty Select Hospital in Evansville, IN on January 16, 2018. She was born on February 26, 1932 to Kenneth and Lucille (Morris) Bowdle in Frankfort, OH. She attended Unionoda Schools in OH. On October 2, 1948, she married the love of her life, Russell A. Free. Phyllis worked at Hagel’s Jewelry Store in Washington, IN for 20 years. She ran a concession stand at the public pool in Washington for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Washington, IN and the Washington Arts and Flowers Club. She enjoyed making a home for her family.

Phyllis is survived by her husband Russell A. Free; children: Kenny (Linda) Free, Sharon (Mike) Myers, Cheryl Snyder, and Tammy (Rob) Elkins; grandchildren: Gabe Myers, Brandon (Liz) Myers, Erica Free, Derek (Sheyla) Free, Adrienne (Todd) LaBorwit, Sam (Rachel) Williams, Chandler Elkins, and Blake Elkins; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; brother: Robert Bowdle (Phyl); two sisters: Nina Taylor (Ote) and Ruth Robinson (Ronnie); and son-in-law: Larry Snyder.

The funeral service for Phyllis will take place on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 1pm at Sugarland Memory Gardens Mausoleum, 4334 N. State Rd. 57, Washington, IN 47501 . Visitation will be on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 11am-1pm at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut Street, Washington, IN 47501.
