Ruth Ann  Burris
Ruth Ann Burris, 82, of Washington, IN, went to her Heavenly Home on December 16, 2017 from Timbers of Jasper in Jasper, IN. She was born on May 12, 1935 in Washington, IN to the late Raymond and Sallie (Grubb) Traylor. She attended Washington High School. On January 19, 1952 she married the love of her life, Harold L. Burris. She worked and retired from G.C. Murphy’s Company as the office bookkeeper. She was a member of a bowling league, and she enjoyed cooking and baking. She has had 2 poems published in the National Library of Poetry, one titled “Country Hayride” and several published in the Washington Times Herald. She wrote as a hobby about the seasons and natures of Earth.

Ruth is survived by her children Paul Burris, and Kathy Schnell; granddaughter Erica N. Kress (Joseph); and great grandchildren Shelby D. Roach, Madison T. Roach, and Brinley Kress. She is preceded in death by her husband Harold; parents; son-in-law Donald Schnell; and brothers Delmar Traylor, Everett Traylor, Warner Traylor, and Ralph Traylor.

The funeral service for Ruth will take place on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 1pm at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut Street, Washington, IN 47501 with Pastor Byron Holtsclaw officiating. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 to 5-7pm. Interment will follow the service on Thursday at Bethel Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.gillsince1872.com.
