Joseph Edward "JOE"  Klingensmith
Joseph Edward “Joe” Klingensmith, 84, of Washington, IN passed away October 25, 2016. Born February 15, 1932 in Chicago, Ill, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Betty (Cassiday) Klingensmith. He was a 1950 graduate of Washington High School, and graduated from Cincinnati University. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Joseph served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. On September 16, 1950, he married Barbara Jean Donaldson. Along with his wife, he owned and operated Donaldson Insurance Agency for forty- two years, and was a residential real estate appraiser for twenty years. Joseph held several memberships including; Charity Masonic Lodge# 30 F & AM, Scottish Rite in Evansville, Hadi Shrine in Evansville, Daviess County Shrine Club, The American Legion, The Independent Insurance Agents Association, and The National Association of Realtors.
He is survived by two daughters, Martha (John) Newton, and Debra Hamdan; Grandchildren, Joe (Jessica) Hamdan, and Patti Jean Newton, and a Great Grandson, Peyton Joseph Hamdan; A special companion, Joanna Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a step mother, Mildred Klingensmith, and a sister, Janet Smith. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2016, at Gill Funeral Home. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sugarland Memory Gardens. The family requests that Memorial Contributions be made to; The American Cancer Society.
