Doris J. Hawkins
Doris J. Hawkins 89 of Odon passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016. Doris was born in Hudsonville, IN. to the late William Oliver Cornelius and Goldie (Banks) Cornelius. She was married to the late Robert L. Hawkins December 19, 1942 and he preceded her in death on April 29, 2015.
Doris lived her life with Robert as a farmer’s wife. She enjoyed crocheting, selling eggs, her flower garden, family pets, and taking care of her family. Doris was a member of the Washington Moose Lodge, a Bowling League, and Shoals United Methodist Church.
Doris is survived by her son, Ronald Hawkins (Debbie); grandchildren, Shannon Herrington, Shelby Hawkins, Colin Hawkins, Zak Hawkins, Kelli Kelsey, Aaron Crew, Hayden Hawkins, Kim Gries, and Robin DeRossett; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death were two children, Jeffrey Hawkins and Linda Bechtel.
A funeral service will be held at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut St. Washington, IN 47501 on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Sugarland Memory Gardens.
